A New Way to Honeymoon

A Honeymoon with 20 of your best friends!

We always try to stay up on the latest trends in the wedding and travel industry.  One trend that recently piqued our interest is extended and inclusive honeymoons.

What does that look like?

We know how important it is to this generation to have group experiences with friends, opposed to the private island seclusion model of previous generations. And what better time to plan a group trip with your best friends than just after getting married? Your adrenaline and endorphins are riding high!

Imagine, you and 20 of your best people take up residence in a luxury lodge or private vacation home and play together, relax, have bucket list worthy experiences –all while the couple honeymoons.

A typical day might involve a group horseback trail ride in the morning, cocktails with everyone by the pool in the afternoon and a privately catered dinner in the evening.

Over the years, we have worked with a wonderful Native American chef, Lois Ellen Frank who creates spectacular dinner parties and teaches cooking classes in BHR’s gourmet kitchen. Frank has spent over 30 years documenting the Indigenous foods of the Southwest and owns the Red Mesa Cuisine catering and food company. Red Mesa Cuisine is a great resource for catering a truly unforgettable dinner party.

We purposely designed our ranch to allow family and friends to gather, while providing ample space (over 2,000 acres) and maintaining privacy. It is possible to do both!

Another possible itinerary for an extended honeymoon is a wellness day.  Invite a group to the property to enjoy a day filled with professional massages, sauna, swimming, and a soak in the hot tub.  After a year (or more) of wedding planning and the wedding bash, what better way to relax and reconnect with your besties?

Santa Fe is home to many of the world’s best healing practitioners and yoga teachers, so there is a whole lot of wellness that can be curated on the BHR lawn.

In fact, there are so many activities that can be curated at Blame Her Ranch over the course of your stay.

Santa Fe is the third-largest art market in the U.S., which means tons of artists call Santa Fe home. You might have a group painting class at the ranch, or a live drawing class (in warmer weather) on the lawn.

We think the trend of an extended and inclusive honeymoon is one to endorse and we love to work with couples to create their dream itineraries! When you think about it, if you book your honeymoon at a typical resort you end up spending a lot of time with people you don’t know. What would it be like to include your best friends?

Let’s get creative and plan a honeymoon staycation that checks all the boxes.
