Introducing Lauren!

Blame Her Ranch is excited to introduce Lauren Blamer Busch.  Lauren is BHR’s marketing and social media director as well as the daughter of Steve and Linda Blamer. She is also the first person to have gotten married at the ranch.

Lauren: I am Steve and Linda Blamer’s daughter.  I was the first person to get married at BHR almost 5 years ago… can’t believe it’s been 5 years, wow!  I have been helping at the ranch for about a year and a half and love learning more about the family business.  In my spare time, I love playing with my vivacious 3-year-old (and one on the way), cooking, exploring Denver, and spending time with my family.

I have learned so much from my parents.  They are amazing role models regarding business, especially my mom.  Some people don’t realize she basically started the online dating industry, she’s a HUGE inspiration to me.  I like to think I get my business sense from both of my parents.

What is your professional background and how did you get roped into work with your parents representing Blame Her Ranch?

I went to Fashion School and graduated with a merchandising degree.  I actually got my first “real” job while I was still a student working in merchandising for Ralph Lauren… (yes, like Rachel from Friends). My mom also started in fashion working at Ralph Lauren out of college and one could say I followed in her footsteps.  I worked at Ralph Lauren for about 8 years, then I moved to LA to work for BCBG where I was their Director of Global Merchandising… before I was 30! 🙂

After becoming a mom though, I wanted to have more time with my family and it was the perfect opportunity to start learning from my mom and dad about the ranch.  I really wanted to get a sense of how to run the ranch.  I am extremely proud of the ranch and what my parents have accomplished.

What is your favorite aspect of working with your family?

Learning from them and they are fun.  They literally created the ranch from a drawing they made on a napkin. I love seeing how the ranch has transformed over the last decade +.  It went from a family home to this amazing business where people get to enjoy the happiest moments of their lives.

Tell me about some of the itineraries you write for guests?

The buddymoon package is amazing and truly lets you enjoy the ranch and everything the area has to offer.  We can curate anything to your heart’s desires, from massages to horseback riding, mountain biking, private chefs or cooking classes, plus more.  I wish we had this idea when I got married at the ranch cause it’s an incredibly special place and it’s so wonderful to be able to take advantage of its nature.

What trends do you see couples and guests wanting?

There is so much to do at the Ranch, but I see curating days like “relaxation days” with massages and sauna treatments, to “adventure days” with ATV tours and skeet shooting.  The sky is really the limit.

Describe your wedding at the ranch?

Our wedding was very bohemian.  We really wanted to capture the simplicity of the nature around us. My parents created the ceremony area when we got married.  We had a beautiful arch created out of branches from the property with beautiful flowers.  Our reception had a live band playing Cuban jazz during dinner followed by a DJ to dance the night away.  And of course, lots of good food.

Any recommendations as a former bride for people planning weddings?

Have fun, and Etsy is your best friend.  We curated one-of-a-kind ideas from the site to make our wedding special.

What are the three things you cannot live without?

My Family, The Ranch, and Rosé (When I am not pregnant)
