Meet the Bambis

Here at BHR, the Airstream Bambi’s have finally arrived! Blame Her Ranch now has two Bambis on the property that can be added to any stay. Each Bambi sleeps 4 with a convertible table bed, has a full kitchen and bathroom, and is air-conditioned/heated with wifi and gorgeous panoramic windows throughout.

We thought that the classic American Airstream trailers would make a wonderful additional accommodation to the ranch and create a mini campground feel on the north side of the ranch.
Our Bambis also have a private lounge area with a fire pit to enjoy beautiful New Mexico evenings with family and friends. Located at the edge of the cliff providing a different view from the main lodge.

The great thing about our Bambis is that they are docked with full hookups. They even have an on-demand hot water heater, so all 4 guests can take as long of a shower as they want without having to worry about running out of hot water or tanks filling up. All the qualities of staying at home, but in a stylish RV parked at the edge of a cliff, close to the party, but far enough away for privacy.

The first Airstream trailer was built in 1929 by founder Wally Byam and the Airstream company was founded in 1931. Byam was an advertising man, not unlike Blame Her Ranches’ founder, and by the late 1920s he owned seven magazines, but he also loved to camp and explore the great outdoors.

Having lived in a wooden wagon for a time as a child, Wally got the idea to build a travel trailer that could be pulled behind his automobile. He named his trailer “Airstream,” after the way they moved down the road like a “stream of air.” Everywhere Wally and his wife traveled, the D.I.Y trailer was a hit and a conversation starter.

In the 1930’s there was a boom of more than 400 trailer companies, but in just a few years they had all gone out of business, except for the lightweight aluminum Airstream trailers. During WWII Wally had to close the factory due to a shortage of aluminum and take on other jobs, but as soon as the war ended and the economy recovered, he reopened Airstream.

Always an adventurer Wally embodied the Airstream brand and continues to inspire travelers to take to the open road or, in our case, to enjoy the open air.

With respect to Wally Byam and an American classic, we wanted to repost Wally’s Creed:

“In the heart of these words is an entire life’s dream. To those of you who find in the promise of these words your promise, I bequeath this creed…my dream belongs to you.”

To place the great wide world at your doorstep for you who yearn to travel with all the comforts of home.

To provide a more satisfying, meaningful way of travel that offers complete travel independence, wherever and whenever you choose to go or stay.

To keep alive and make real an enduring promise of high adventure and faraway lands…of rediscovering old places and new interests.
