Fall Food and Festivals

2022-09-20T13:25:10-06:00September 20th, 2022|

New Mexico locals know that one of the best times of the year in the state is the fall. After we burn the year’s doom and gloom in the late summer rite, known as Zozobra, locals move on to preparing their green chile stash for winter and celebrating at the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta. This year’s event takes place from September 21 through September 25. Santa Fe’s Wine and Chile Fiesta brings together 50 of Santa Fe’s best restaurants and pairs them with wineries from around the world. The fiesta, over the course of five days, features dinners, cooking demonstrations, winery luncheons and even a golf tournament. This [...]

More than a Wedding Speech

2022-07-26T08:49:38-06:00July 26th, 2022|

Many people hear wedding speeches, and they start to feel fatigued or nervous—what does this mean? And what they will be asked to do? Traditionally wedding speeches were given by the parents of the couple, but a little creativity can make the wedding speech more original and enjoyable. A Brief History: Wedding speeches can be traced back to ancient cultures raising a glass to toast the Gods and health. Toasting at weddings, dates as far back as the sixth century B.C. when Greeks would pour wine from a common pitcher. Weddings were hosted by the bride’s father, who would raise a glass and take the first drink to prove that [...]

Meet the Bambis

2022-07-11T08:42:58-06:00July 11th, 2022|

Here at BHR, the Airstream Bambi’s have finally arrived! Blame Her Ranch now has two Bambis on the property that can be added to any stay. Each Bambi sleeps 4 with a convertible table bed, has a full kitchen and bathroom, and is air-conditioned/heated with wifi and gorgeous panoramic windows throughout. We thought that the classic American Airstream trailers would make a wonderful additional accommodation to the ranch and create a mini campground feel on the north side of the ranch. Our Bambis also have a private lounge area with a fire pit to enjoy beautiful New Mexico evenings with family and friends. Located at the edge of the cliff [...]

Trail Riding at BHR

2022-06-23T08:34:52-06:00June 23rd, 2022|

One of the best things about staying at Blame Her Ranch is, if you are a horseback rider, or wanting to try, the ranch has got you covered. Blame Her Ranch sits on the southernmost tip of Glorieta Mesa and in addition to the ranch’s 2,000 private acres, connects with the Santa Fe National Forest and miles of horseback riding trails. The Santa Fe National Forest is a protected national forest in northern New Mexico—established in 1915, it covers 1,558,452 acres. Elevations range from 5,300 feet to 13,103 feet at the summit of Truchas Peak, located within the Pecos Wilderness. “It is a wonderful place for trail riding,” says BHR [...]

Let Us Entertain You

2022-06-13T16:09:12-06:00May 30th, 2022|

This month Linda’s column focused on wedding entertainment, and we even coined a new term, “weddingtainment.” The focus of this blog is to dig into New Mexico-focused entertainment options that you might not find elsewhere. The first uniquely New Mexico entertainment group that comes to mind is Wise Fool. Wise Fool is a longstanding Santa Fe-based circus company that also has an event entertainment-for-hire division of the non-profit. Over the years, we have been at events that feature ariel aerial silk dancers, stilt walkers, giant puppeteers, and jugglers. In today’s ever-over-the-top event culture, why not create a stunning spectacle at your wedding? Wise Fool is an award-winning non-profit organization at [...]

All About Wedding Food

2022-04-22T10:36:32-06:00April 20th, 2022|

This month, one of Linda’s columns in Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Magazine will focus on Food Trucks.  While we love a good food truck, we also wanted to discuss and provide insight to couples planning their wedding feast and let them know, there are a lot of options. The Traditional Sit-Down Dinner: Great for a couple wanting to ensure that every detail is just so; the sit-down dinner begins early with the wedding RSVP asking guests to select preferences. The plated sit-down gives you the opportunity to create your own dining experience and pace the meal into first, second, entrée, and dessert courses that wedding day speeches and toasts can [...]

Sourcing Santa Fe Style

2022-04-06T10:36:38-06:00April 6th, 2022|

When you stay at Blame Her Ranch everything is at your fingertips. So we understand when guests spend the first few days decompressing and not leaving the ranch. Once you have spent time in nature, explored the surrounding Santa Fe National Wilderness, read in the Zen Garden, and detoxed in a sauna looking over the cliffs, you may be ready to plan a day in Santa Fe. One of the elements of Santa Fe that we continually rediscover and appreciate is what has been coined “Santa Fe style.” What is Santa Fe style?  Some describe it as a mix of Bohemian and Southwestern style, but we define it as a [...]

Tips for a Greener Wedding

2025-08-28T07:33:40-06:00February 25th, 2022|

We recently learned from the Green Bride Guide, that the average wedding in the U.S. produces 400 pounds of garbage and 63 tons of CO2. We know that for many of our clients, being ecologically responsible and reducing the carbon footprint is important. At Blame Her Ranch being green is something we are proud of and as many of you know, in 2021 we launched an Agro-ecology research center to preserve the ecology of our unique property. Because we’re located in the Southwest where water is scarce, we also encourage water-saving measures whenever possible. So, what should be on a couple’s “green” list? Here are a few of our best [...]
